School teachers (grades 6-12) are invited to apply to participate in a one-week workshop, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, on school desegregation in Virginia and the historic Brown v. Board of Education decision. During this workshop, to be held in Richmond, Virginia, in July 2017, teachers will interact with leading scholars in the field, visit historic sites and archives related to school desegregation in Virginia, and discuss curricular and instructional approaches related to teaching this subject.

Stipend: Commuting participants who incur no housing costs will receive a $600 NEH stipend and residential participants who incur housing costs a $1,200 NEH stipend to defray travel and related expenses
